Florida
Florida is situated
between the warm Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic
Ocean, and is found to the South East of the U.S.A. It has become
a very popular destination, mainly due to its warm climate and attractions
for all ages.
From October through
to April is the height of the tourist season with a minimum of 7
sunshine hours per day, averaging from 72 degrees to 88 degrees.
Festivals, Art Shows, Parades, Winter fairs and Fiestas take place
throughout the State.
Disney World is especially
magical during the run up to Christmas. Summer months are often
hot and humid, but the Ocean breezes make life far more pleasant.
Sunshine hours average
about 9 per day and temperatures can reach the mid nineties from
July to September.
No point in Florida is more than 60 miles from saltwater and the
convoluted coast extends for about 1,800 miles if one includes all
of the islands. Sandy beaches comprise about 1,016 miles of Florida
coastline. Obvious attractions in Florida include Disney World,
Sea World and Universal Studios all approximately 2 hours drive
on the Interstates. Motel rooms are cheap and plentiful in the Orlando
area should you wish to stay overnight before returning exhausted
to the peaceful surrounds of the villa. Busch Gardens is approx
40 minutes away and can easily be done in a day.
Other attractions situated
further afield include The Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral,
Florida Keys and the Everglades. Whilst the Myakka State Park is
only about 45 mins away and has exciting air boat rides.
